Council describes an 80-kilometre coastline with 41 beaches, 15 of them patrolled, and names Wamberal Beach and Terrigal Beach among the patrolled ones. Patrolled is Council's word for a beach, not a distance to surf, and no source read for this site says how far any street here sits from breaking surf. The corrosion table's own wording is typically within 100 m of breaking surf, and from 100 m to 200 m inland only AZ200 aluminium/zinc or AM150 aluminium/zinc/magnesium coatings are listed as suitable.
Where metallic coatings are not a suitable form of protection, the sheeting must be a type designed and made for such environments, and different metals in one roofing system, including flashings, fasteners, gutters and downpipes, must be compatible. Ask the provider whether the quote is for recoating or for new sheeting.
Permits and Central Coast Council rules
Whether a roof job here needs approval is for Council to confirm: painting, cladding repairs and other maintenance to an existing roof are exempt development under the state's code, unless the roof is a heritage item or in a heritage conservation area, but scaffolding on public land needs Council's own approval.
